Who Wants Some Pie?

Frank’s Pizza & Bar is located at Resurrection Spirits Distillery in Vancouver, at the north end of Commercial Drive.  An unpretentious Italian American themed pizzeria named for the abbreviated Franklin St. where the distillery resides with a menu curated by Culinary Director, and pizza legend, Graham Marceau.

To be Frank, this place is turning out some of the best NY inspired pizza in the city. With nods to neighbourhood pizza shops both old & new, Frank’s offers classic round & square pies plus a handful of share plates for the table.   Whether you are looking for a fresh pie to take home or wanting to hang out and crush a few slices and a few bevies, Frank’s originals keep our guests excited and the haters at bay.

  • Pizza.

Good pizza, bad pizza, cold pizza, pizza that you know is too hot to eat but you burn the sh*t out of your mouth anyways. You’ll eat it all, and you know it. Because pizza’s like sex. Even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good.

There’s an understanding that quite often, most people’s favourite pizzerias are the one’s closest to their home. It’s not supernatural. A good pizza place unifies the neighbourhood. It’s a place for people to gather and celebrate life’s small victories. Pizza’s the original take out food. It has its own box. You can take it home and eat it on the couch right out of that box. It’s the f*cking best and you know it.

The term “NY Style” gets thrown around a lot in the pizza world. To some it’s anything cooked in a conventional gas or electric oven with “no flop”. Dave Portnoy’s a moron, but he’s right about one thing, the best pizza is baked dark and stays crispy. The pizza that’s engrained in our childhood memories isn’t Neapolitan style. We didn’t sit down as children at birthday parties and eat our pizza with a knife and fork. We jumped through sprinklers with a slice in our hand that held it’s goddamn composure.

Anyone who’s been to NY knows there’s a lot of pizza. Much like Vancouver with sushi, even the average places are still pretty great. The bar is just so much higher.

Because one thing is undeniable, pizza was invented in Italy, but it was perfected in America. And you know it.

Frank’s at it’s core is a neighbourhood pizzeria. We aim to cook NY style pizza with both classic and original flavour combinations. Our pizza will be crispy. Our pizza will be baked darker than average. We’ll offer a handful of starters, 16” round pizzas, 13”x18” pan pizzas and soft serve ice cream. Because the childhood nostalgia we crave is always pizza and ice cream together.

We look forward to being “your spot”. A place you bring friends & family from out of town. A place you can pop in a few times a week and feel welcome. A place where you can post up for a drink and walk home with a pie.

    We got you.
